**About the Role**
The purpose of this role is to ensure the best outcomes for our severely injured workers by supporting them in adapting to their injury as well as coordinating their treatment, rehabilitation, and care needs. You will need to be effective in handling sensitive and sometimes difficult conversations, understand how a severe injury impacts all aspects of a person’s life and identify what supports, services and resources an individual would benefit from as they progress through their recovery.

**Duties**
It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as an **Coordinator** you will:
- Use a person-centred approach to enhance each worker’s capacity to achieve their goals, determine their needs and coordinate the relevant services and supports.
- Maintain regular contact with the worker including face to face visits, phone calls and written communications.
- Work collaboratively with internal specialist services, external case managers, health professionals and other key stakeholders to coordinate the most effective options to meet the treatment, care and support needs of the worker.
- Use your critical reasoning skills to interpret the relevant legislation to support decision making in relation to funding injury related services to ensure they appropriately meet the needs of people with severe injuries.
- Approve funding for services that are reasonably necessary in relation to a worker’s treatment, rehabilitation and care needs to ensure they are maximising their independence.
- Ensure a high degree of integrity in the decision-making process and excellent communication skills to build rapport and trust with workers.
**Skills & Experience**
- Demonstrated experience working with workers that have complex injury related needs and/or an allied health professional background that has worked in a similar role.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Highly developed understanding of the needs and perspectives of people with disabilities.
- Critical reasoning skills to ensure a high degree of integrity in the decision-making processes.
- Ability to set clear expectations and engage in difficult conversations in a simple and empathetic manner.
- Must hold a driver’s licence and the ability to travel regularly within NSW is required as well as interstate when required.
- Workers Compensation experience in particular within the TMF scheme would be highly desirable.
