**About the role**
Right now, we have an incredible opportunity for a highly organised, proactive and adaptable individual who will be responsible for strategic and annual planning and implementation of programs, projects, operations and policy for the Inner West Council to deliver the outcomes and goals of the Community Strategic Plan.
The Urban Sustainability Team is focused on community and corporate action to realise a more sustainable and liveable inner west. The team responds to all areas of sustainability strategy and program development including corporate sustainability strategy and systems, community, business and schools partnerships, innovation and behaviour change.
The Environment Officer in the Community Sustainability team is responsible for implementing projects working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and to find creative solutions to urban sustainability issues. The role will work with individuals, groups, and business and others in the Environment and Sustainability Group to engagement, projects and partnerships relating to urban sustainability.
Some after-hours attendance at meetings, workshops, committees is required by this role

**Remuneration**
$76,116.56 - $88,970.44 + Superannuation
**Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications**
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field
- Ability to deliver innovative sustainability programs, projects and engagement to varying audiences.
- High standard of communication including; interpersonal and written skills, giving presentations and ability to prepare reports
- Excellent organisational and project management skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of key sustainability issues, including climate change, energy, waste and resource recovery, water conservation, biodiversity.
- Experience in working with and an understanding of the dynamics of community-based groups and programs.
- Experience in managing and running community events, workshops and activities
