High Complex Disability Support Worker

Overview:
We are seeking patient, compassionate, and highly experienced support workers to assist a 10-year-old non-verbal male with Level 3 Autism Spectrum Disorder in his home and community. The role involves 1:1 support at home and 2:1 support in the community, focusing on daily routines, communication support, and behavior management.
Monday - Saturday availability
**Responsibilities**:
Provide 1:1 assistance at home with daily living activities, personal care, and sensory regulation.Support the client in community outings (2:1), ensuring safety and engagement in social and recreational activities.
Implement behavior management strategies to de-escalate physical aggression (e.g., hitting, headbutting).
Collaborate with caregivers and therapists to follow individualized care plans.
- Develop and implement personalised strategies to support individuals with ASD in various settings.
- Provide training and support to colleagues, caregivers, and community members to enhance awareness and understanding.
Qualifications:
- Certificate III in disability with proven experience
- Extensive experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and a deep understanding of Pathological Demand Avoidance.
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based interventions and strategies for individuals with ASD.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to adapt and customize support based on individual needs.
