Opportunity

iCan is offering a complex disability support worker position for enthusiastic individuals living in the Sunshine Coast.

Responsibilities

  • provide comfort and assistance to clients with mental health, substance abuse, disabilities, including personal care, domestic assistance, and facilitating social activities.
  • Support clients with complex needs and behaviours.
  • Assist with implementing individual care plans and monitoring client progress.
  • Maintain a safe and supportive environment for clients, ensuring their well-being and dignity at all times.
  • Provide domestic and personal care duties
  • Transport to appointments and other activities

Requirements

  • Basic computing skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • Availability to work days, nights and weekends
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; both written and verbal
  • First aid certificate
  • CPR certificate
  • Police check
  • NDIS workers check (or willing to obtain)
  • NDIS worker orientation module certificate
  • Drivers licence (current) and reliable vehicle
  • Blue card
  • Yellow card

  • Genuine passion and interest in working within the disability sector
  • A positive and professional attitude about undertaking personal care work
  • A commitment adhere to guidelines around privacy and confidentiality and all other company policies and procedures
  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work within a team
  • Ability to establish a professional working relationships with participants that is supportive, encouraging and in line with their individual personal plan

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $34.00 – $45.00 per hour
