**About the role**

Reporting to the Head of Communications and Public Affairs, and taking additional direction from the Senior Communications Manager, the primary purpose of this position is to support the Communications team by coordinating effective communications strategies, being able to spot opportunities and produce innovative content for The Hospital Research Foundation and its charitable affiliates.

**Role responsibilities include**:

- Coordinate media activity for THRF Group peer-to-peer fundraising events including but not limited to The Longest Table.
- Provide communications support for the promotion and growth of community fundraising for THRF Group.
- Produce a variety of content for online and offline communication platforms by liaising with fundraisers and donors.
- Coordinate agreed regular media opportunities for THRF Group.
- Develop and distribute content for relevant THRF Group stakeholder newsletters.
- Contribute to the development of THRF Group’s culture through role modelling THRF Group’s values and behaviours.

**About you**

To be successful in the role you will ideally have;
- Completion of an undergraduate degree in Communications, Public Relations, or Journalism.
- Demonstrated experience in a Communications role, preferably in a NFP or health-based environment.
- An ability to think creatively, generate story ideas and gather information via interviews.
- An ability to write content for a variety of platforms including hard copy and online.
- An ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholder groups including, government and communication professionals, medical professionals (researchers, clinicians, nurses), patients and donors.
- A strong understanding of Australian local and national media outlets and ability to identify proactive media opportunities and deliver outcomes.
- An intermediate knowledge of digital communication and marketing platforms such as InDesign.
- The ability to positively contribute to team harmony.
- Ability to work within directed parameters
- An interest in the fundraising sector or health sector.
- Highly self-motivated with the confidence to work autonomously when required.
