The role
Reporting to the Manager, the Principal Planning Officer will contribute to the design and development of innovative solutions for health services and undertake system planning activities for Queensland Health. The Principal Planning Officer will lead strategic infrastructure planning activities that support development of sustainable infrastructure solutions. They will develop guidelines, frameworks, tools and training packages to inform health service planning and models of care, and contribute to statewide health service planning activities that respond to changing populations and health and service needs.
The successful person

**You will have demonstrated**:

- Strong research and critical analysis skills including the ability to translate health literature, analyse and interpret data (at a minimum, experience with Microsoft Excel is required) and synthesise qualitative information to develop a range of products including system assessments, strategic or statewide service plans, frameworks, templates, tools, reports, briefs, discussion papers, submissions and presentations.
- Ability to project manage, complex and time-critical projects, including the ability to respond and adapt to changing priorities and competing demands.
- High level written and verbal communication skills including the ability to compile reports, discussion papers, presentations and submissions, cultivate productive working relationships and partnerships, and effectively represent the interests of the Department in dealings with stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the Queensland Health System, including key health system issues, the health needs of key population groups, and health service provision data.
