The Regional Economies team provides an integral role in the development and implementation of regional infrastructure plans ensuring their alignment with regional land use planning and industry sectoral development approaches. Place-based approaches support collaboration and partnerships across the department, across the Queensland Government, other levels of government and with the private sector to drive regional economic outcomes. In times of disaster, the team supports the restoration of the economy as lead for the economic recovery function under the Disaster Recovery Framework.

**In the Principal Project Officer role you will**:

- Provide leadership and management of small teams delivering projects and program management initiatives.
- Provide high level and strategic advice to senior management on key regional economic and infrastructure policies, issues, and programs
- Develop, monitor, and review policies and programs related to regional economies.
- Prepare quality, complex, well researched and thorough documents including policy papers, briefs, reports, and submissions.
- Work collaboratively with senior management and stakeholders to ensure project outcomes support the strategic direction of the division.
- Represent the department at meetings, conferences, high level forums and committees and undertake negotiations with external stakeholders on complex economic and regional development and resilience issues, and,
- Support the economic recovery function in the event of a disaster.
