**About the Role**:
As the Principal Planning Officer, you will support the performance and progress of a variety of projects and programs under Service Strategy. It is expected you will work collaboratively with the Service Strategy team and a broad range of stakeholders through productive working relationships to ensure outcomes are delivered within timeframes and to a high standard.
Provide a critical program/project support role to the Manager Service Strategy supporting governance, operations, monitoring of priorities, progress, deliverables, and risks of programs and projects within the team.
Supporting the monitoring of the performance and progress of projects, related tasks, subprojects, risks and outcomes, including developing and maintaining status and risk reporting and other program and project management tools.
Develop a variety of documents, including briefs, presentations, reports, and other artefacts, as well as review and progress submissions for approval, adhering to the department's style guides, document management system and governance.
Participate in discussions, investigations, research activities and information gathering to inform Service Strategy activities.
The Principal Planning Officer reports to the Manager, Service Strategy.
As the successful applicant, your role will include (but not be limited to):
Support the delivery and lead the analysis and reporting of infrastructure programs.
Contribute to the establishment of policies, processes and tools for the delivery and implementation of quality frameworks to identify opportunities for process improvements.
Contribute to the development of performance measures to evaluate and report on specific infrastructure programs.
Establish and maintain strategic networks with local governments, external agencies, regional infrastructure advisors and central office staff to monitor issues and changes, and to identify, define and analyse best practice approaches to implementing consistent processes for a range of infrastructure and planning related issues.
Generate pathways, strategies, frameworks, policies, advice, correspondence and reporting to support long-term infrastructure strategies such as Infrastructure for Learning, aligned with Department of Education and whole-of-government priorities. Provide strategic advice to key internal stakeholders on strategy development, industry insights and strategic design principles.

Build and sustain positive and respectful relationships with team members and stakeholders as well as actively listening, involving others and recognising their contributions.
