We are looking for a Principal Consultant - Design to provide strategic direction within our Digital Practice, overseeing a team of designers in the delivery of impactful and innovative solutions for our clients.
As a Principal Consultant - Design, you’ll provide strategic design leadership across both pre-sales and project delivery. You’ll be responsible for shaping customer experiences, mentoring designers, and driving growth through creative and human-centred design.
What You’ll Do- Lead pre-sales conversations to uncover opportunities for design-led engagements based on customer goals and challenges- Develop compelling proposals outlining approach, rationale, deliverables, timelines, and required skillsets- Oversee project engagements, ensuring scope alignment, client satisfaction, and risk mitigation- Build strong relationships with NSW design team members, supporting their growth and development- Coach and mentor design consultants, helping them achieve their professional aspirations- Facilitate discovery workshops and brainstorming sessions to define business and project objectives- Design and manage engagements from brief to launch, ensuring quality and innovation throughout- Collaborate with client engagement teams to identify new opportunities and shape strategic conversations- Create innovative customer experiences that drive business outcomes and open new doors
About You
You’re a strategic thinker and empathetic leader with a passion for design and a track record of delivering exceptional outcomes. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy mentoring others to reach their potential.
Skills & Experience- Demonstrated experience in design leadership within enterprise or government environments- Deep expertise in human-centred design, service design, and/or UX/UI practices- Exceptional communication skills, with a strong ability to engage and influence stakeholders- Proven track record in pre-sales activities, including proposal development and project scoping- Skilled in coaching, mentoring, and developing multidisciplinary design or engineering teams- Confident in facilitating workshops and leading strategic design conversations with clients
