**Principal Consultant, Workplace Relations**
- _Salary: $134,593 to $157,355 (Plus Superannuation)_

- _Usual work location: 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne (flexibility may be available)_

**The Role**

The Principal Consultant, Workplace Relations is responsible for the delivery of the full range of workplace relations functions and will play a lead role in providing expert workplace relations advice and support at all levels within the department and across its portfolio agencies.

The responsibilities of the principal consultant will include:

- Provide strategic input into the interpretation of government policies, legislation and industrial relations initiatives
- Support portfolio agencies throughout the bargaining process
- Establish and maintain positive and effective relationships with key stakeholders

**The Team**

The position of Principal Consultant, Workplace Relations forms a part of the People & Culture branch within the Corporate Services group. This group consists of specialist functions including strategic communications, finance, investment and procurement, performance and governance, legal and legislation, people and culture, information technology and workplace services and the close out of activities related to the Commonwealth Games.

**About You**

You will ideally have the following skills and experience:

- Proven experience, and a record of achievement, in managing complex workplace issues in a public sector environment
- Proven experience in establishing and maintaining working relationships with key stakeholders
- High level negotiation, consultation and communication skills
