**About the role**
As the Team Manager for the Property Assessing team at RACQ Insurance, you will be responsible for leading and motivating a team of 12 direct reports. Reporting to the Manager, you will oversee the team's performance and provide direction, coaching, and support to drive success. As a leader in the property assurance field, you will act as an advocate for our members, building strong relationships, resolving issues, and providing feedback. Additionally, you will assist with trade-related tasks, identify, and mitigate risks, and ensure compliance within the team. Your key duties will include:
- Leading the team positively towards achieving individual and team-based goals and outcomes.
- Effectively manage staff performance and behaviours in line with RACQ group policy to achieve business objectives
- Ensuring a high standard of communication occurs between internal staff and external stakeholders.
- Driving performance, motivation and engagement through mechanisms such as monthly one to ones, coaching and team meetings.
- Contribute and participate in strategic planning initiatives.
**About you**
We are seeking a skilled leader to manage our team of assessors, which includes both long-term and newer team members. As the team leader, you will be able to identify and capitalise on the strengths of each team member, fostering their development and growth to deliver exceptional outcomes for our members. Your ability to embrace and leverage the diverse competencies of the team will be crucial in driving success and achieving the best results. Ideally you will have:
- At least 3-5 years relevant experience across assessing, trade or property claims
- Strong leadership skills, and a high level of proven ability to motivate staff to achieve personal and business objectives
- Demonstrated experience in identifying, creating, developing and maintaining effective relationships
- Member-focused mindset, high empathy and service delivery are a must
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- A trade qualification, either building or trade certificate (mandatory).
