**About the department**

Our primary therapy areas are diabetes and obesity, and we offer a broad range of medicines within the areas of haemophilia, growth disorders and women’s health.

**The position**
To manage a Medical Affairs Team and successfully plan and execute Medical Affairs tasks, in support of strategic medical objectives, business opportunities and the overall brand plans as well as the affiliate’s strategy considering short-, medium-, and long-term business needs.
Reporting to the Clinical, Medical, Regulatory & PV Director, you will be responsible for leading and managing a growing team of Medical Advisors.

This position requires:

- To work cross-functionally with commercial Business Units, clinical research, and patient access to provide medical and scientific expertise for our current and future businesses
- This is a critical leadership role with over-arching responsibility for developing the medical function that will ultimately empower and support the performance of our business through collaboration across internal and external stakeholders, including medical education programs and thought leader engagement
- Ensuring that KOL engagement plans and HCP interactions plans are achieved
- Productive relationships with key customers and relevant medical institutions to achieve a competitive advantage, market leadership in support of Sales activities along with issues management

**Qualifications**
- A Ph.D. in life sciences or a Medical Degree (MD) is essential
- Minimum 5 years of pharmaceutical industry Medical Affairs department experience (desirable) with Management experience
- Industry experience relevant to diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease areas, is required as well as high levels of ethics and integrity putting the patient at the heart of all decisions
- Recent and multiple new product launch experience with an extensive external stakeholder network is valued, along with experience in leading teams and projects
- Ability to work well cross-functionally with excellent networking abilities. This person should be fluent in written and spoken English
