**About the team**

The Regional and Outer Metropolitan division is focused on understanding the needs of regional communities across NSW and delivering customer-centred integrated transport services and infrastructure.

**The Role**

Network and Assets branch at Transport for NSW is looking for a Commercial Contract Specialist to join their team. In this role you will support the Commercial Manager to ensure the commercial management and protection of Transport for NSW's Regional rollingstock fleet operation and Project Deed via its contractual management arrangements and dispute resolution strategies.

The role provides commercial, including financial and contractual advice through all phases of various rollingstock programs including the validation of and timely payment of multi-million-dollar invoices to facilitate the maintenance of the rollingstock fleet including:

- Build and expand on previous validation tools to validate payment claims
- Review and validate monthly payment claims
- Build tools to calculate and validate attribution process and abatements
- Calculate and Validate abatements
- Prepare Annual Budgets and Forward estimates using interpretation of the Contracts as well as working with Key stakeholders
- Preparing Monthly actual and forecast variance analysis
- Write Briefing notes for Procurement and Purchase orders
- Raise annual Purchase Orders with Suppliers and Inter-agency
- Receipt Purchase Orders and ensure monthly payment of suppliers in line with the contract
- Prepare and support commercial and financial input into Annual maintenance Plans and Annual Strategy Plans for the Contracts
- Lead Commercial and Financial Meetings on behalf of the Contract Management Team for the Contract
- Provide support in the creation of and updating of the Contract Management Governance Plan
- Review pricing for variations, particularly to ensure alignment with the Contract

**About You**

Ideally you should have experience in providing commercial advice and administering commercial and financial aspects of contracts, including in the development and control of commercial/financial practices and risks and knowledge of financial management support systems (e.g., Equip, SAP) or extensive experience undertaking procurement and financial support activities, including managing the commercial aspects of a complex contract including:

- Experience in Budgeting and Forecasting (both building and updating) and variance analysis reporting
- Experience in Validation and review of payment claims from suppliers in accordance with contracts
- Experience in Administration of contract financial obligations such as raising Purchase orders, receipting, delegation levels, briefing notes etc

To be successful in this role you will require the ability to plan, prioritize and organize work while delivering on tight deadlines, have strong attention to detail, be customer focused, demonstrate drive and commitment, and have effective communication, negotiation skills and the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.

**Salary and Benefits**

The salary for this position is Transport Grade 9 ($138,670- $ 155,309) - per annum plus superannuation
