We are seeking a Strategic Contracts Manager to join our Commercial and Procurement Group in our Finance and Business Performance Division for a fixed term 2 year period.

**The Challenge**

**What you’ll do**:

- In support of Hunter Water’s complex and strategic programs of work, create fit for purpose commercial and procurement strategies and supplier contract models to deliver best practice outcomes.
- Engage and influence team members and internal stakeholders to effectively enable development and implementation of procurement and contract documentation.
- Ensure Hunter Water’s liabilities and financial risk are appropriately managed within carefully drafted contracts to suit the purpose and outcomes sought by Hunter Water for each project.
- Work collaboratively with suppliers to establish KPIs to evaluate supplier performance across each project, to ensure supplier obligations are achieved, and where improvements can be made throughout the project lifecycle.
- Negotiate and resolve contract issues and disputes with suppliers in a positive manner in consultation with the Commercial & Procurement and Legal Groups as required.

**What you’ll need to be successful**:
**Essential Criteria**:

- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Law, Project Management or related field
- Comprehensive background in creating contract models and delivering successful contract management outcomes at a senior level with a strong sense of business ethics and probity
- Well-developed business/commercial acumen with a focus on customer service

**Desirable Criteria**:

- Post Graduate qualifications in procurement, supply chain, commercial law or related field
- Demonstrated experience in identifying and negotiating partnerships and strategic alliances to achieve outcomes
- Relevant training in contracting or procurement
- Work Experience in a regulatory environment
