**The Role**
The National HR Services Team is looking for leaders to effectively manage a HR team that supports our Defence customers in complex HR situations and drives outcomes across broad employment matters including mental health and wellbeing, performance, change, behaviour, conflict and other employment aspects.
- Be committed to providing great customer service, consistent service delivery; design, develop and deliver packages designed to build manager capability; proactively engage and communicate with stakeholders to identify, respond and provide advice in complex HR situations, and provide APS people policy and guidance.
- Collaborate with colleagues to deliver integrated, customer focused solutions.
- Lead and engage a diverse team and drive performance and outcomes.
- Be an excellent communicator with strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Be a trusted HR professional to our customers and you will be passionate about building organisational capability through people.
This role is the Assistant Director HR Services for our QLD and NT service delivery area. We will also develop a merit pool to utilise for future opportunities.
**About our Team**
The National HR Services Team, within Defence People Group, provides complex HR case management across the employment lifecycle. We work with customers to provide coaching and guidance to support the resolution of complex HR issues or concerns and provide advice and guidance on APS people policy and procedures.
The Team collaborate with colleagues across the people domain and more broadly across the Enabling groups to deliver integrated, customer focused solutions. We are trusted HR professionals to our customers and passionate about building organisational capability through people.
- Be customer focused and have the ability to manage relationships with multiple stakeholders across a variety of people issues, ranging in complexity and sensitivity.
- Essential to the role is proactive communication and leadership of a team responsible for day-to-day case management services and support to drive optimum and sustained outcomes.
- We work in a fast-paced operational environment and the ability to meet tight deadlines, while managing competing priorities is essential. Successful applicants will have superior problem solving and time management skills and demonstrate resilience and the ability to lead a team delivering complex HR services and support. Liaison and client responsiveness are critical features of these roles.
- Have leadership and team management experience and willing to be accountable for team performance and outcomes;
- Have a passion for, and experience in, Human Resources and a demonstrated ability to lead a customer facing team of HR professionals;
- Will be agile, innovative and demonstrate initiative and proactive customer service.
