Head of role responsible for managing the procurement team and its full functionalities.
Our client is looking for a motivated and experienced individual to step into the Head of Procurement role, responsible for managing the procurement team and its full functionalities.
**The duties include**:
- Lead the procurement team, continuing to identify opportunities for improvement with a firm focus on achieving value for money outcomes
- Provide expert advice to stakeholders, including on a range of urgent, sensitive and/or high-profile engagements
- Lead or assist with commercial negotiations with prospective partners as the final step in the procurement process, where relevant
- Provide specialist and technical advice on contract management matters with key ongoing partners
- Research and analyse best practice to ensure sourcing and procurement strategies and approaches are current, risks are identified and governance frameworks are effective, and insight is gained through the analysis of costs, benefits and supply markets
- Undertake any other tasks for procurement and contract management, as directed by the Chief Financial Officer and/or EGM Corporate Services
- Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders to provide insights on business needs, resolve issues and deliver cost, service and quality outcomes.
- Set strategic direction for procurement within TA, lead, plan and manage the review and development of procurement policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure that they are appropriate to TA and comply with legislative requirements

**Experience**
- 12+ years of experience in senior business advisory role, including procurement, negotiations and contract management
- A government environment, including procurement (preferably federal or state/territory government)
- The marketing and advertising industry
- The tourism sector
- The use of AusTender, the Australian Government's online portal for managing procurements and contract reporting
- Working in a high-pressure environment and delivering key objectives
- Working as part of a high-performing, cross-cultural and professional team
- Accurately performing complex financial analyses within tight timeframes

- Clearly understand, interpret and anticipate business needs
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships, managing challenging internal and external relationships.
- Be responsible for own areas of accountability and take ownership for the team's performance and decision-making, as well as building capacity in longer term
- Write fluently in plain English and in a range of styles and formats, use contemporary communication channels to share information, engage and interact with diverse audiences.
- Interpret contracts and communicate salient information, in consultation with the General Counsel and Legal team
- Use own and others' expertise to achieve outcomes, and take responsibility for delivering intended outcomes
