About us
Vow is a food company - a very different one. We’re creating real meat products from animal cells instead of the animal itself. We’re bringing together cutting-edge innovations in science, engineering, culinary and design to make sustainable food that’s both irresistible and available to billions of people worldwide.
Role Description
We are seeking a Global Supply Manager to support our engineering and manufacturing teams in the procurement of capital equipment for current and future production projects across multiple manufacturing locations. In this role, you will actively collaborate with our Engineering and Manufacturing groups, utilising your sourcing and negotiation expertise to establish and maintain strong working relationships with key suppliers, ensuring cost, quality, and delivery targets are met. This opportunity allows you to join a dynamic, fast-paced environment, where you will work alongside colleagues who embody humanity, excellence, and creativity in all that they do.
What You'll Do
- Daily management of supply and constraints, status reporting, escalation, supplier engagement, and pursuit of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, technology landscape, and supply base for relevant equipment and automation vendors; develop and execute commercial strategies to deliver on ambitious programme and project timelines.
- Develop, validate, and analyse RFQ packages to potential capital equipment, tooling, and engineering and construction suppliers; make sourcing recommendations based on quote packages.
- Negotiate pricing, specifications, commercial terms, and issue PO’s for Production Equipment, Tooling, and associated services; support organisational management objectives by identifying and negotiating commercial cost reduction opportunities, including make vs. buy decisions.
- Cultivate best-in-industry equipment and tooling supplier relationships, acting as a single point of contact for all commercial and strategic issues within the supply base; drive continuous quality improvement and work on "Lean" initiatives.
- Ownership of RFI's, RFP's, and RFQ's; ensure NDAs, SOWs, and Master Purchase Agreements are positioned appropriately before business is initiated; drive price negotiation processes to ensure Vow’s commodity pricing is best in class.
- Address all areas of category management, including category business plans, global market and pricing analysis, and procurement support; monitor current category market conditions, technology roadmaps, and identify supply/demand challenges and opportunities.
- Analyse current spend, evaluate and consolidate suppliers, and identify new high-potential suppliers on a global basis; manage respective supplier relationships and performance, including dispute resolution.
- Develop key performance measures for chosen suppliers and negotiate strategic contracts that result in significant cost reduction and improved service levels; lead the vendor selection process with engineering teams.
- Evaluate supplier business proposals, develop sourcing and negotiation strategies that deliver against business objectives, and achieve sustainable relationships with suppliers; create competitive environments with suppliers to support a negotiation strategy.
- Evaluate and provide guidance on the final selection of suppliers; perform value analysis for the final selection of suppliers and evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models.
What You'll Bring
- At least 3 years of strategic sourcing and/or category management experience in a fast-paced, highly fluid environment, preferably for capital equipment or engineering and construction categories.
- Strong presentation and influencing skills, with experience presenting to executive-level management on strategic projects, programme status, recommendations, and priorities.
- Experience developing "should-cost" estimates, analysing supplier quotes, and driving price negotiation processes to ensure best-in-class commodity pricing.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across multiple tasks and projects, engaging with other Sourcing Specialists, Sourcing Managers, Category Managers, and Buyers.
- Proficiency in evaluating and analysing data to enable operational decision-making or present clear recommendations to leadership.
- Solid understanding of contract fundamentals, with demonstrated skills in supplier operational and relationship management, including dispute resolution.
- A blend of business and technical knowledge, allowing for big-picture vision and the ability to dive deep into specific challenges, such as managing supply and constraints, status reporting, and escalation.
