**About US**
UniSuper is a place where brilliant thinkers and passionate people come together. As one of Australia's largest super funds, the work you'll do with us makes a meaningful difference today and tomorrow for our members, the planet and for you.
We offer an impressive range of benefits that includes a highly achievable annual bonus; additional leave including 3 days over Christmas and 3 days 'Community and Culture' leave allowing you to celebrate and contribute to things that are important to you outside of work; the opportunity to choose between 17% and 11% superannuation; $1500 personal development budget and expectational parental leave.
**The opportunity**
We’re all here to help deliver great retirement outcomes for our members. Your role supports UniSuper doing this by fostering a risk aware culture and promoting informed decision making by the business. You, as a part of the Risk & Governance team, will help shape, influence and challenge the way our business teams think about risk and compliance and enable the implementation of our numerous risk and compliance frameworks. The role will interface with a number of business units to provide Line 2 assurance and oversight to these businesses.
On a day-to-day basis you will work closely with the Enterprise Risk team, the broader Risk & Governance team and the line 1 functions you partner with.
Your key objectives will include:
- Influence the quality of risk discussions and risk assessments - Through your attendance at key line 1 forums, you will ensure the quality of risk discussions is of sufficient standard and influence appropriately when this is not the case.
- Monitor the implementation of change - Ensure that risk and assurance change programs (for e.g. regulatory change, system implementation, risk policies, etc.) are designed in a way that ensure the desired behaviours are embedded into the operating rhythm and practices of the business.
- Project risk management oversight - Provide oversight and challenge of major projects your business units are responsible for delivering to ensure risk is being appropriately considered, assessed and reported. Use your strong stakeholder engagement skills to be a trusted partner and adviser to stakeholders and be a thought leader and mentor to other team members.
- Conduct targeted and enterprise risk training - On an as needs basis, and at times collaborating with the People and Talent team, you will deliver training programs related to risk and assurance (for e.g. incident management, project risk management, regulatory change implementation, etc.).
- Reporting and Insights to Senior Management and Board Committee(s) - Working with the Risk Insights & Audit team in Risk & Governance, you will provide input into the preparation of relevant reporting for key governance forums.
- Input into framework and policy design - Working closely with the Regulatory Oversight team within Risk & Governance, you will provide input into the design of risk and assurance policies and frameworks, ensuring that they are fit for purpose and easy to implement.
**About you**
You are a big picture person with wide angled lens and an understanding of the importance of remaining independent.
It is critical that your role effectively integrates with and enables the business to achieve its objective whilst still maintaining independence and objectivity. Besides, you will bring:
- Strong risk management and/or audit experience, with 5 or more years of professional experience, ideally with exposure to technology and projects
- Previous experience in business partnering or stakeholder management is essential, preferably in superannuation or financial services.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and influence appropriately when required.
- Understanding of how to translate regulatory and legislative requirements and risk management frameworks into actions and activities that result in positive change that adds value to the business.
- Some experience in project risk management preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
We're passionate about knowledge and sharing it amongst our members and our employees, therefore we believe that a balance of working from home and time in office is the best way to collaborate and build relationships with your colleagues. We ask you to be able to commit to 60% of your time in office.
**Think Great. Create Great.
