Make a difference as a Risk Advisory Manager
Join the largest general insurance group in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. We're a top-tier ASX-listed company helping to make the world a safer place through creating a stronger and more resilient business and enabling our portfolio of iconic insurance brands.
Your Role
Step into a leadership position where your risk expertise can make a real difference. As Risk Advisory Manager, you'll lead a team of second-line risk specialists, providing strategic oversight and guidance across corporate service functions. You'll work in close partnership with the Executive Manager, Risk Advisory to ensure the Line 2 function delivers insightful and effective risk oversight across the organisation.
Your focus will be on building trusted relationships across the business, acting as a strategic advisor to help teams navigate uncertainty, achieve strategic goals, and confidently pursue opportunities. You'll foster a positive risk culture and embed an integrated risk management approach that balances risk and reward. You'll also support the delivery of risk initiatives from specialist risk functions into the business.
Through planned and ad-hoc oversight activities, you'll develop a deep understanding of operational processes, associated risks, and controls. You'll form and communicate independent conclusions on the Division's risk profile, enabling risk-informed decision-making that supports the achievement of strategic objectives.
You'll bring strong business acumen and excellent communication skills to provide constructive challenge across Divisions. Your independent, enterprise-wide perspective will ensure risk topics are considered within the broader Group ecosystem.
This is a permanent with the flexibility to be based in either Sydney or Melbourne.
About You
- You hold a tertiary qualification in Finance or a related field, backed by a CA designation and Big 4 experience.
- Your foundation in audit and assurance—ideally within financial services—gives you fluency in financial control processes and a sharp eye for detail.
- You bring hands-on experience in risk management and advisory roles, with a track record of driving meaningful outcomes.
- With at least 5 years in the financial services industry (preferably general insurance), you understand the landscape and know how to navigate it.
- You're a confident leader and skilled stakeholder manager, able to influence, negotiate, and build strong relationships across all levels.
- Your curious mindset drives you to ask the right questions, dig deeper, and explore complex challenges with clarity and purpose.
- You communicate with impact—translating observations into clear, actionable recommendations that inspire change and guide decision-making.
Applications close Monday 25th August 2025 at 23:59pm AEST.
