**Primary purpose of the role**
The role collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, leads and manages development and delivery of the Online Enrolment System project workstream to enable product planning to respond to business needs of users and the department.

**Key accountabilities**:

- Lead and manage stakeholder engagement to understand business goals, business metrics and strategy so they can be incorporated into product planning. Manage stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation and problem management.
- Work closely with the development team for sprint planning, sprint showcases, sprint retrospectives and other Agile meetings. While Co-ordinating release planning and development, for features and scaling and product roadmap.
- Manage the product backlog, ensuring it is visible, transparent, and clear to all, and shows what the development team will work on next. Ensuring the development team understands items in the product backlog to the level needed.
- Lead and manage project team members to deliver business requirements, quality assurance, test coordination and training while assisting with project financials including project estimating, forecasting and budgeting.
- Lead and assist with recruitment of project resources in collaboration with the Iteration Manager and Program Manager.
- Assist the organisational change manager/change analysts in deliverables identified in the change management strategy.
- Engage service design teams to understand dynamics and goals of users, coordinate showcases and information sharing strategies to ensure stakeholders remain engaged through the progress of the program of work.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Project Management or relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Have 5 years plus experience as a Product Owner in large complex organisations, preferably in government.
- Have 2 years plus experience in the workings of NSW educational practices, policies and trends.
- Comprehensive understanding of agile delivery and practices, with 5 years plus experience.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the department's Aboriginal education policies.
