**Job Description**:
We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Laboratory Assistants to join our Alexandria, NSW team on a **casual basis**. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our sample preparation section, where you will prepare and analyse soil, water, and air samples. _#NSWJobsConnect_

**Your key responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to**:

- Conduct routine sample preparations for soil, water, and air analyses, including the handling of acids, solvents, and other reagents.
- Ensure timely completion of work, adhering to due dates.
- Comply with analytical methods and maintain quality management systems.
- Prepare standards and reagents.
- Perform sample analysis and accurately record data and results.
- Assist chemists and supervisors with various tasks, such as instrument loading and waste disposal.
- Adhere to all SGS QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) and HR policies and procedures.

**Qualifications**:

- Certificate IV (TAFE) or equivalent qualification.
- One to two years of laboratory experience or a similar background.
- Strong methodical approach and enjoys routine work.
- Analytical and detail-oriented.
- Demonstrates a commitment to continuous learning.
- Team-oriented with the flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances.
- Possession of a current driver's license.

- Casual position with an expected minimum of 4 hours per day during peak hours.
