An opportunity is available within an SGS client's Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Team for a skilled safety professional who can work independently. This position involves working at the Client's offices on a full time permanent basis.

You will have the opportunity to work independently, help develop and implement a local health and safety program and have a big impact directly on the employees you support.

Here are some key responsibilities for you in this role:

- Prioritize work based on team objectives.
- Complete projects with little need for oversight.
- Establish and meet deadlines.
- Collaborate with team members, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Identify and act on improvement opportunities for the program.
- Facilitate program communications and provide regular status reports to your manager and other stakeholders.

Some other aspects of the role:

- Standard business hours, onsite at SGS's client site.
- You will be the primary OHS support for the SGS client's office.
- The team has weekly meetings to prioritize what will be done for the week.
- Work comes from various sources: new or updated activities from SGS's client work teams, injury investigations, maintaining OHS tools and systems.
- You will have the opportunity to develop working relationships with many SGS's client internal customer teams and various stakeholders in Facilities, HR, and Security. This may mean participating in meetings or having informal small group or 1-on-1 discussions to understand requirements and deliver required safety assessment.

**Qualifications**
Required and desired skills:

- 5-10 years of experience in the Occupational Health and Safety field. Must have the following training or be willing to acquire it within 60 days after starting work: RCRA Hazardous Waste Manager (8-hour
- must complete this training annually) DOT Hazardous Materials Shipper (8-hour
- must complete this training every three years).
- Must possess strong cross team/group/organisational collaboration skills; ability to foresee and analyze project risks, develop risk management plan and mitigate subsequent issues.
- Must have good written communication skills
- Must be proficient in analyzing data for trends, developing and executing effective professional communications, and adult learning.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and other Microsoft tools.
