Established in 1871, the Art Gallery of New South Wales is located in Sydney’s The Domain adjacent to the Royal Botanic Garden and near the Central Business District, the Gallery acknowledges the original custodians of this land - the Gadigal people of the Eora nation.

The Gallery attracts around 1.4 million visitors annually and runs Australia’s largest education program with over 90,000 student and teacher visits per year.

With our expanded campus recent opening the Gallery has a new state-of-the-art building located next to our existing and much-loved building. Providing us with close to double the exhibition space, the expanded Gallery enables us to share more art with more people and provide more family, learning and educational programming for all our audiences.

**About the role**

This position works within the Installation team and provides audio visual services for the installation and support of time based art and related technology in exhibitions at the Gallery. Provides advice and technical solutions for the development, realisation and delivery of allocated projects, while ensuring safe and compliant delivery of department services.

**What technical / soft skills you require**

1. Relevant qualifications and competencies gained through a combination of training and/or experience.

2. Demonstrated experience with successful delivery of audio-visual projects and experience working in a multi-discipline outcome focused technical team with a commitment to sharing knowledge and multi-skilling.

3. Effective communication skills with the ability to liaise and collaborate effectively with a range of stakeholders.

4. Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.

5. Advanced computer skills across OSX and Windows platforms, with expertise in AV technology standards, systems/protocols, control and automation software, data networking, media delivery systems as well as word processing, spreadsheets, communication platforms and databases.

6. Experience and knowledge of multimedia and kinetic/multidisciplinary artwork display practise and integration in a gallery or museum or similar environment. Ability to work safely across various sites such as regional gallery spaces.

7. Experience and resilience in manual handling, rigging, working at heights, confined spaces installation of large/heavy audio-visual hardware and knowledge of relevant WHS practices and documentation.

1. Describe an AV project related to an exhibition, (or similar) you worked on and what the specific skills you utilised within the project team were. Explain the challenges, how you overcame them and what you and your team learnt from the experience. (400 words)

Provide an example of how you were able to use your technical and organisational skills to manage multiple projects with conflicting priorities and deadlines, identifying AV technical production and multi-project coordination skills to successfully meet the expectations of internal and external stakeholders. (400 words)
