**About the Role - Governance & Compliance Officer**
As the Governance and Compliance Officer, you will be an integral part of the team responsible for shaping the governance, compliance, and technology risk practices within the Digital and Technology Group at WorkCover Queensland. This vital role offers a unique opportunity to actively support these fundamental aspects of our organisation, while working closely with a collaborative, supportive, and close-knit team, within a larger workforce of approximately 1200 employees.
You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that expectations between WorkCover and our IT vendor community are clearly communicated and met, fostering a strong foundation for mutual growth and value. In addition, you will be responsible providing day to day delivery of technology risk and assurance practices, working in collaboration across a cross-functional environment. Reporting to the IT Governance and Compliance Manager, you will be instrumental in executing essential activities, providing crucial coordination, support and guidance across governance, performance reporting, compliance, and audit functions.
**A bit about you**:
- Demonstrated ability to effectively coordinate and administer governance and compliance activities, or similar, in a dynamic environment.
- Strong transferrable skills in coordination, tactical planning, organization, meticulous attention to detail, and a conceptual understanding of compliance and governance.
- A proactive and methodical approach to documentation, administration, and record-keeping, always looking ahead to stay many steps ahead.
- Demonstrated proactive problem-solving skills and a track record of providing well-reasoned recommendations for continual improvements
- Demonstrated capability in developing and nurturing positive relationships, ensuring effective collaboration with all levels of stakeholders across a cross-functional environment
