**About Us**

Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is a wonderful place to expand your career and grow your skills and knowledge. As a recognised leader in the healthcare industry, we provide a range of public health services to the Nepean and Blue Mountains and Lithgow Region.

The Primary Care and Community Health Unit consists of 9 centres that provide a range of services for children, young people and their families, adults, older people and their carers. Our services range from health promotion, prevention and early detection through to assessment, treatment and continuing care. Our staff work in partnership with schools, GPs, hospitals, non-government agencies and other organisations to provide care across our centres, in people’s homes, other community venues as well as virtual care (telehealth).

Brighter Beginnings is a whole-of-government initiative to give children the best start in life. It aims to provide families with the information they need, when they need it to make their decisions - a customer centric approach to empower families with clear, reliable and timely information, improve universal services that improve rates of participation in universal health, education and family services and target support and services for families that need it most - improve existing services and deliver evidence-based supports for families with additional needs.

This initiative is aligned with the NSW Health First 2000 Days approach which outlines the importance of the period from conception to age 5 in providing a basis for lifelong health and wellbeing. It outlines what actions people within the NSW health system need to take to ensure that all children have the best possible start in life.

We are seeking to engage a Senior Allied Health Clinician with Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, or Speech Pathology qualification to take on the role as Brighter Beginnings Clinical Lead. The successful incumbent will lead the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation the Brighter Beginnings initiative of providing 4-year-old Health and Development Checks in early childhood settings. Key duties will include:

- Line management of Allied Health Assistants working in early childhood settings
- KPI data management and reporting and evaluation of the 4-year HDC and STEPS programs
- Planning and coordinating of 4-year Health and development checks across the District
- Coordination and alignment with STEPS program
- Ensuring clinical competencies and training for Allied Health assistants and all staff providing HDCs
- Coordinate rostering of nurses and allied health staff from Child and Family Health to participate in 4-year HDC in collaboration with Nurse Unit Managers

**What you will bring to the role**:

- Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy and current registration with AHPRA as an Occupational therapist/Physiotherapist. For Speech Pathology, a Bachelor or Masters degree that provides eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia. Extensive experience in assessment, planning and evaluating therapy interventions with children aged 0-5 years presenting with a variety of developmental difficulties/diagnoses.
- Demonstrated experience providing clinical consultation in own discipline within a community based multidisciplinary team.
- Evidence of excellent negotiation, decision making and advisory skills including the ability to effectively build and maintain professional relationships and collaboration with external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated high level of oral and written communication skills including proficient use of technology in a health care setting.
- Excellent clinical reasoning skills, teaching skills and demonstrated ability to provide senior level of supervision to staff and students.
