**The Shipping & Receiving Specialist will contribute to the success of Aviation Supply Chain by providing a high standard of logistics support to both Internal and external customers. This will be achieved by working primarily with workshop team leaders and other logistics team members to ensure prompt efficient material and service supply. This may include but not limited to supporting freight movement, stock taking, parts distribution & coordination of calibrations for all Australian based workshops.**:
**Essential Responsibilities**:
- Adherence to both regulatory compliance and GE policies and procedures
- Processing of all incoming/outgoing freight requirements including quarantine, repairs, spare parts, calibrations, and non-stock orders in a timely manner to meet required turn around times and maximize positive impact to end customer
- Understand and perform cyclic or yearly stock takes, including providing support to remote sites.
- Prompt picking & transferring (charge outs) of piece parts & consumables for workshops to support continuation of workflow.
- Support aviation tooling calibration process
- Support administration and retention of Import/Export data to ensure compliance in accordance to GE Policy.
- Working independently or as part of a team to develop problem solving solutions as they arise.
- Other duties as required.
**Qualifications / Requirements**:
- Intermediate level excel & computer skills
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Great attention to detail and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work as part of a team or autonomously and use initiative.
- A history of integrity and reliability
- Ability to be able to identify areas for improvement and formulate solutions or develop
- Safe manual handling in accordance with applicable EHS practices.
- Excellent time management skills.
- The ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Clearance.
- Must have legal working rights for Australia.
**Desired Characteristics**:
- Dangerous goods shipping experience
- Exposure to Lean principles and how they can be applied to improve efficiency
- Aviation Industry knowledge
- Shipping and Receiving and other warehousing and internal logistics experience.
