**Your role**
**Join Our Dynamic Workers Compensation, Safety and Wellbeing Team**
- To develop and deliver effective, targeted injury and claims management programs, including return-to-work programs, that support injured workers in recovering at work. This role ensures compliance with legislative requirements and promotes a safe, supportive, and productive work environment across the Department of Communities and Justice.
**What you’ll do**
As an Injury Management Officer, you’ll play a key role in supporting employee wellbeing and driving positive outcomes across the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ). In this hybrid role, you will:
- Provide injury management services and coordinate return-to-work programs
- Manage workers compensation claims and implement injury prevention strategies
- Facilitate referrals for independent medical assessments with WHS and compensation implications
- Advise and educate managers and staff on legislation, policies, and procedures
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support recovery and return-to-work outcomes
- Maintain accurate, confidential records in line with legal and policy requirements
**What we’re looking for**
We’re seeking a proactive injury management professional who can:
- Influence managers to implement innovative, balanced recover-at-work programs
- Support injured workers through complex claims using best practice approaches
- Build strong relationships to drive positive outcomes for employees and the business
**Essential Requirements**
To succeed in this role, you must have:
- Tertiary qualifications in a therapeutic or nursing field, or equivalent experience in injury management
- Sound knowledge of current workers compensation legislation and policy
- A valid Driver’s License and the ability and willingness to travel across regions to support injured workers face-to-face
