**Your new role**
***
The role of the Bushland Management Officer is to provide a high-level technical support in managing bushland and biodiversity matters across the council LGA. The position will undertake works/activities in strategic and operational bushland management. The role will also provide support to the Natural Environment and Climate Change Unit in actioning customer requests and assisting with other field work as required, including the supervision of contractors.
**What you'll need to succeed**
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or significant relevant experience in environmental management, biodiversity, ecology or a related field
- Demonstrated experience in, and excellent understanding of bushland and biodiversity management, threatened species, pest species control, estuary, creek, floodplain, stormwater and coastal processes as it relates to undertaking remediation and development assessment.
- Demonstrated contract and project management experience
- Demonstrated ability to assist with the development and implementation of business plans including budgeting, cost control, performance management and monitoring and reporting on service outcomes
- Thorough understanding of legislation relevant to environmental planning at a local government level
- Experience undertaking and reporting on flora and fauna surveys
- Hold a Class C driver’s licence.
