**About the role**

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Travel Consultant with a passion for Africa to join our team at This is Africa. This is a full-time position based in our Randwick, NSW office. As a Travel Consultant African Specialist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and curating bespoke travel experiences to Africa and the islands off the African continent.

**What you'll be doing**:

- Consulting with clients and agents to understand their travel preferences and create tailored itineraries for travel to Africa
- Researching and booking flights, accommodation, tours, and other travel arrangements
- Providing expert advice on destinations, activities, and cultural experiences in Africa
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of travel regulations, visa requirements, and safety information
- Collaborating with the wider team to identify and promote new African travel opportunities
- Providing exceptional customer service and responding to client inquiries in a timely and professional manner

**What we're looking for**
- Must be an Australian citizen or have permanent residency
- Must have worked as a wholesale or retail travel consultant specialising in Africa for a minimum of one year
- Extensive knowledge of African travel destinations and attractions
- Must have travelled to:

- South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to understand and meet the needs of diverse clients
- Extensive knowledge of African travel destinations, including popular and off-the-beaten-path locations
- Proficiency in researching and booking complex travel arrangements, including flights, accommodation, and activities
- Strong customer service skills with a very strong command of the English language both verbal and written
- Extensive reservations expertise
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively
- Detail-oriented and organized approach to work
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft programs: Word, Excel and Publisher
- Good knowledge of Galileo
- Must have worked with Tour Plan NX Reservation System
- A passion for travel and a desire to share your knowledge and expertise with others
