This is a permanent role with a hybrid work arrangement (3 days in the office), and you will be part of a collaborative, close-knit team.
Reporting to the Group Manager Property, you will have responsibility for facilities management outcomes for the Downer property portfolio and lead a team of facilities management specialists. This role is critical for driving value, cost-efficiency, fostering strong landlord relationships and executing property optimisation initiatives to align with, and support Downer’s strategic objectives.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Implement the strategic management of a portfolio of properties to optimise the Group’s leasehold and freehold property requirements and unlock value.- Ensure compliance with facility obligations across Downer’s property portfolio, adhering to lease agreements, Zero Harm principles, and jurisdictional requirements.- Manage both insourced Facility Management contracts and direct-report facility operatives to deliver effective facilities and project management across leased and owned sites.-
- Lead the client-side delivery of capital works, fit-outs, maintenance, and site consolidation projects aligned with corporate objectives and lease obligations.- Prepare business cases and project documentation including budgets, risk assessments, and stakeholder engagement plans to support project governance and approval.- Oversee tender processes and supplier management for key project requirements, ensuring high-quality outcomes and value for money.- Establish and maintain a panel of suppliers for key Project Management and Property related services.
- Manage the program of works including consultants, contractors and sub-contractors to achieve the agreed project deliverables including program, budget and quality.
- Manage the transition to new sites (hard and soft services eg electricity connection, HVAC balancing, fire extinguishers, test and tag, removalists etc) and the relocation of teams into workspaces.
**What You Will Bring**- Degree-qualified in a Project and/or Facility-related discipline, or with a minimum of 5 years’ experience managing facilities and projects within a corporate real estate environment.- Poven experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and successfully delivering diverse and competing tasks.- Client-side experience delivering office and/or warehouse fit-out projects.- Indirect or direct management of facility managers.- Good understanding of corporate property operations and associated cost drivers.- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite software, work management systems, and project management software.- Experience using software to create, manage, and close out work and purchase orders.
