About the Role

We are seeking a Part-Time Barista to join our team in our Collingwood Canteen Team The Part-Time Barista will work closely with the Lead Barista to ensure excellent customer service and assist the preparation of coffee and other food/beverages. You will have a wide range of responsibilities to maintain the quality of our space and offerings. You will play an integral part in maintaining our fantastic customer service standards while providing high-level barista service to customers.

The Part-Time Barista will require the ability to work 20-25 hours per week. All rostered shifts will be between Canteen operating hours of Monday-Friday between 7:00am-4:00pm.

About you

You will bring prior café/restaurant experience, preferably serving a multitude of functions as a barista or wait staff. Some skills we are looking for include:

- 2+ Years experience working in an Australian Cafe
- Available to start on the 1st of November
- Experience in food preparation such as sandwiches
- Venue monitoring & ordering
- Coffee knowledge and ability to make a variety of beverages
- Excellent communication & customer service skills
- Motivated attitude & looking to broaden experience in the industry
- Experience working with La Marzocco coffee machines (highly desired)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Service & Hospitality
- Provide excellent customer service to members of the space
- Handle customer enquiries & provide general wait assistance
- Maintain the high-level customer service standards of The Commons

Cafe
- Provide general barista support to the Lead Barista, including:

- Taking and preparing orders
- Monitoring stock/products
- Adjusting grinder
- Upkeeping hygiene standards
- Maintain cleanliness of the cafe
- Ensure all machines & utensils are in pristine condition
- Maintain a safe working environment for all staff and customers

Work Health & Safety
- Conduct and maintain safe work practices by enduring WHS standards are adhered at all times
- Ensure compliance with WHS standards. Communicate and educate members and team members to ensure a safe environment
