As an Alumni Engagement Associate, you will contribute to programming that is informed by the priorities of Advancement, the Faculties and the University, and drive and own allocated actions.
You will develop and deliver various audience specific communication mediums in order to provide effective messaging between the Alumni Engagement Office (AEO), Deakin Alumni, Faculty and Divisional representatives and partner organisations, with the aim of enhancing the breadth and depth of Alumni engagement, and increasing levels of affinity between Alumni and Deakin.
The Alumni Engagement Associate is critical to the successful establishment and development of Deakin’s domestic and international alumni networks. The position is also integral in the planning and implementation of coordinated and integrated programs of communications and engagement with Deakin Alumni.
**Your key responsibilities will include**:
- Support the planning, delivery and evaluation of the Alumni Engagement Office philanthropy programs and initiatives, including events and alumni communications, as determined by AEO strategic planning
- Build new and productive relationships with a diverse range of students, alumni, stakeholders or key and influential individuals both inside and outside the University
- Understand and integrate perspectives held within different areas of the University and put plans in place to build collaboration, mutually beneficial ethical alliances and develop common goals
- Provide high level administrative services to alumni chapter committees established to assist with engagement in discipline specific areas, including the coordination of meetings, corresponding with committee members, the distribution of agendas and writing of minutes
- Represent the University in internal and external alumni matters, forums and events as required
- Develop and implement practical, accessible solutions based on stakeholder needs
- Strive for excellence and consult regularly with clients to clarify who requires the information, the purpose for which it is required, criteria for success and where and when advice and recommendation is required
- Plan and prioritise work and critical activities appropriately and recognise barriers to achieving outcomes, finding effective ways to deal with them and evaluate progress
- Identify and provide accurate and timely reporting relating to cross University promotion and alumni touchpoint data
- Coordinate contact between the AEO and Advancement Services in respect of data requests and the scheduling of e-communications concerning promotions and deliver effective and efficient outcomes and outputs
- Strive for excellence and establish short to mid-term operational plans to meet Deakin’s strategic priorities
- Plan and oversee all aspects of the end-to-end project to deliver sustainable outcomes, value within constraints of time, cost and quality
- Actively seek feedback from colleagues and stakeholders on things that are working well and areas for improvement
**To be successful, you’ll have**:
- Degree with subsequent relevant experience; or
- Extensive experience and specialist knowledge; or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
