Commercial Manager

**About the role**

As part of the branch Management team, the Commercial Manager is responsible for the timely and effective analysis of branch financial results and partnering with relevant stakeholders to identify strategies/initiatives that improve financial performance. In addition, the Commercial Manager provides hands-on effective leadership that enables the branch commercial team to deliver effective administrative services to the Mining division and its customers.

**Duties**:

- Analyse department/branch results and work with relevant managers to develop strategies and systems to improve financial performance
- Provide leadership to the branch Commercial team, including personnel development and training
- Provide operational financial support and advice to internal customers
- Oversee month end processes including accruals, expense allocations, invoice submissions and reports
- Review the fortnightly payroll process at branch level, including cost analysis and spot-auditing
- Prepare and submit financial reports and tenders
- Manage budget processes
- Manage insurance claims, as well as asset management

**Skills & experience**:

- Minimum 3 years experience in a financial role within a large organisation
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is essential
- Demonstrated experience managing a team
- Demonstrated experience providing strategic financial support and advice at management level in a large organisation
- Attention to detail and high-level accuracy of work
- Customer focused
- High level written and verbal communication skills
