- While having some overlap with a contracts administration role, this brings a broader commercial remit - spanning project support, response to claims and risk management
- A key part will be the commercial support for the Project Management team, ensuring that financial aspects are in line with expectations
- You will handle initial responses to claims and provide practical contractual and quasi-legal support across a range of higher risk profile projects
- Given their client base are many of the premium engineering and mining companies who have large, sophisticated contracts and commercial offerings, they are expanding their internal capabilities
- As such, it will be necessary for you to be able to build and maintain working relationships with stakeholders across levels, while also being able to hold your own in negotiation processes
- There will be a strong level of support though, with the General Manager holding this role in the past so knows it back to front
- Best suiting a qualified lawyer, accountant or engineer, this highly commercial role will see you take a key role on some globally significant engineering projects
- This will suit best if you have an interest in leveraging your existing foundation to do something different, and an enthusiasm to learn while getting stuck in across a range of projects simultaneously
- The company is a multinational, engineering consultancy who are genuinely at the forefront of what they do
- You will have involvement with large resources projects for blue-chips while also having involvement in some of the biggest stadium, infrastructure, commercial and industrial builds through Australia, Asia and the US
- Highly advanced technologically, their newly fitted out office in the CBD reflects and supports this
- The internal culture is one of continual personal development, with encouragement for staff at all levels to ask questions and continually seek knowledge
- **PLEASE NOTE**: this is not a senior, team management focused Commercial Manager role.
- It will suit if you are on the upswing of a career (2-5 yrs’ experience) within the contracts management space or a Legal or Accounting Practitioner (including Graduates) who is looking to pivot
- You will demonstrate high numerical and literacy competencies and a high level of attention to detail
