The Australian National Maritime Museum is seeking an experienced and well organised Finance Officer - Fixed Assets and Procurement to join our Finance team in this ongoing position.

This position is responsible for the management and reporting of all fixed assets and assisting in the procurement process for the Museum and the Foundation. This includes recording the evaluations and depreciation of the Museum’s Heritage Collection, currently at 650,000 objects, and assisting across the business with the procurement process.
**High level overview of accountabilities**:
- Performing accurate and timely monthly reconciliation of fixed asset subsidiary ledger balance with summary-level account in the general ledger; and depreciation calculations for all fixed assets and run monthly depreciation schedule.
- Allocating capital asset numbers to projects and any fixed assets acquired to facilitate tracking. Recording newly acquired fixed assets and any disposals and preparing a monthly report tracking Capex spend.
- Providing the timely revision and update on the detailed schedule of accumulated depreciation and fixed assets to the Finance Manager.
- Creating fixed asset-related audit schedules and answering all fixed asset queries for ANAO auditors during year-end audits.
- Partnering with the Finance team in the timely preparation of capital budgets. And assisting in the preparation of reporting requirements including BAS, statutory accounts and senate questions.
- Engaging and advising key stakeholders on policies, procedures, systems, and standards, including the ANMM Procurement Policy and Commonwealth Procurement Rules, to deliver effective, outcomes-focused procurement activities.
- Working with the Head of Finance - update the fixed assets insurance - Comcover monthly to ensure all newly acquired assets are captured and ensure current valuation in Comcover after 5-year comprehensive valuation.).
**Selection Criteria**:
- A relevant degree or certificate qualifications.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a finance team.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong numeracy and literacy skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal) with the ability to collaborate with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
