The Student Counsellor is responsible for creating a caring college environment which recognises the diversity of our students.

**The position is responsible for**:

- Raising the profile of student support services across the college and increase the help-seeking behaviours and mental health awareness of students.
- Providing counselling to students on welfare matters
- Developing programs and services that promote students' well-being
- Liaison with academic staff, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders on student support needs, referral and advocacy.

**Qualifications**:

- A relevant Master’s degree and/or formal counselling qualification
- Substantial relevant work experience providing students with counselling
- Membership or eligibility to be a member with a Professional body eg PACFA, ACA, APAC, APS, AASW
- Demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of student support programs for students, preferably in a tertiary environment
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal and oral communication skills, with a proven ability to consult, counsel and liaise with a wide range people from culturally diverse backgrounds
- Availability to attend campus in person every Thursday
