Rehabilitation Counsellor assists physically, mentally and socially disadvantaged people to reintegrate into work and the community. We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced **Rehabilitation Counsellor** to join our dynamic team. Proficiency in languages such as Dari, Hazaragi, and Farsi is highly desirable, along with expertise in working with CALD (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse) families, as our services cater to a diverse client base.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Working with clients on career, study and employment options by obtaining and examining information relevant to their abilities and needs
- Support transition planning for clients moving into new educational or community settings, helping prepare them and their families for changes in environment and routine.
- Track and document client progress, providing regular reports to families and contributing to the overall assessment records.
- contributing information, understanding and advice on the learning and behaviour of students, especially those with special needs, and assisting parents and teachers in dealing with these needs
- Facilitate workshops or training sessions on positive behavior support and creating communication-friendly environments at home
- Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation plans, working closely with clients, employers, and healthcare providers.
- Provide counseling, guidance, and vocational support to assist clients in overcoming barriers to employment and independent living.
- Monitor and evaluate client progress, adjusting plans as needed to ensure successful rehabilitation outcomes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including speech pathologists, medical professionals, occupational therapists, and employers, to ensure coordinated care.
- Maintain accurate client records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and ethical standards.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in vocational rehabilitation, disability services, or counselling.
- Relevant experience and/or on-the-job training also required.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, such as Workers’ Compensation, NDIS, or employment services.
- A valid driver’s license and ability to travel to meet with clients and stakeholders (if required).

Pay: $90,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
