Hays Technology are currently partnered with a well-established government client to appoint an experienced Data Analyst to a 12-month contract

**Your new role**

As the Senior Data Analyst, you will be responsible for working within the DAP agile scrum team and liaising with the business and technical stakeholders, will be responsible for profiling source systems data, documenting what the data means, and how the data is used by the business in the context of the business processes and source systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities will also include:

- Perform systems analysis, data analysis and data profiling activities to create detailed knowledge of source system, their data meaning, structures and lifecycles, and the implications for data vault and pipeline design to migrate source system data into the Data Vault
- Support source to target mapping as part of the Data Vault design
- Support the testing work stream with detailed test scenarios, test executions, reconciliations etc
- Lead and ensure requirements gathering, modelling and stakeholder management activities comply with approved standards, methods, tools and notation

**What you'll need to succeed**

To be successful in this position, you will have
- Demonstrated experience using predictive (plan-driven) and adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches to software requirements gathering, seeking input from, and formal agreement to, requirements from a diverse range of stakeholders, negotiating with stakeholders to manage competing priorities, establishing requirements baselines and ensuring changes to requirements are investigated and managed
- Demonstrated experience in investigating enterprise data requirements where there is some complexity and ambiguity to develop conceptual, logical and physical data models
- Devises and implements data management processes, including classification, security, quality, ethical principles, retrieval and retention processes. Derives data management structures and metadata to support consistency of information retrieval, combination, analysis, pattern recognition and interpretation, throughout the organisation
- Proven high-level negotiation, consultation facilitation and effective written and oral communications skills in a complex agile program/project environment working for Product Managers and with Product Owners preferably within software development teams
