Actuary Analyst - 12 months contact

Our client is a federal agency based in NSW.

**Your new role**

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

- Extracting, cleansing and preparing data from multiple sources, in particular the data warehouse.
- Efficiently using relevant software.
- Updating and replication of regular performance monitoring.
- Utilising statistical and mathematical modelling techniques to undertake analytical work on a range of tasks, including monitoring and analyses, data tabulations, scheme projects and cost benefit analyses.
- Undertaking ad hoc modelling requests and report production.
- Effectively communicating (verbally and in writing) the progress of work responsibilities and outcomes of work undertaken.

**What you'll need to succeed**

Skills and qualifications needed for the role:

- Relevant quantitative degree in actuarial studies, statistics, engineering, mathematics, econometrics, computer science or related field
- Experience is not essential, but attention to detail and willingness to learn is needed.
- Knowledge of statistical techniques and methods
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Effective communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Adaptable and responsive to a continuously changing environment
- (Desirable) Experience using SAS (preferred)/SQL/R/other programming languages and/or analytics platforms is desirable, as well as experience working with large datasets.

**What you'll get in return**

12 months contract

$50-$70 /hour rate
