The Print Technologist is responsible for reviewing and providing feedback all bulk artworks in line with the brand aesthetic, work closely with inhouse and external artwork grading teams.
- As a Print Technologist, your key responsibilities will include:_
- To contribute and support the delivery of collections at all Production milestones.
- Provide artwork comments and feedback via visual aid on artwork generated to artwork grading teams for full size range of artwork.
- Ensure cutting instructions are kept up-to-date with any changes to artwork between SMS, PPS and Bulk.
- Keep up to date with new technology for creating artworks, printing and embroidery at sampling and production levels
- Participate in seasonal handover to Production where required, to ensure complex artworks are correctly executed at bulk stage
- Review and comment on bulk artworks for production purposes working with pattern makers to achieve most efficient yields.
- Consider the most economical method to set up artworks per style eg: placement, nested, borders etc.
- Cross-checking artwork before bulk printing: placements and yardages.
- Ensure all correct IP markings are added to artwork files and supporting documents at first strike stage and through to production.
- What you will bring to the role:_
- Tertiary qualifications in Textile and/or Fashion design
- Previous experience in a similar technical position
- Knowledge of current design trends, industry developments and new têxtile processes.
- The ability to demonstrate outstanding creative instincts and a distinct point of view through colour, texture and patterns.
- Have strong design and communicative skills.
- Advanced Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign skills.
