ZIMMERMANN has an opportunity for a creative Textile Designer to join our renowned Design team for a 12 month fixed-term contract.

This position will involve artwork design and development from concept through to bulk in line with the Zimmermann brand aesthetic.

As a Textile Designer, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborate with Creative Director and design team on seasonal concepts
  • Extensively research creative ideas and provide input on the key textile design elements of each season in line with the Creative Director's vision.
  • Creating original purpose-built artworks for Zimmermann seasonal collections under direction from Creative Director that are unique and not derivative.
  • Ensure all artworks is created in line with the company standards regarding originality and intellectual property rules.
  • Technical preparation of artwork including creating artwork repeats and colour separations.
  • Complete placement print designs, engineering to pattern markers.
  • Grade and nest placement artworks.
  • Adhere to seasonal deadlines.
  • Ensure design room is organized including fabric references, design board and general design room workspace.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Textile design
  • Previous experience as a textile designer
  • The ability to demonstrate outstanding creative instincts and a distinct point of view through colour, texture and patterns.
  • Have strong design and communicative skills.
  • Advanced Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign skills.
  • Immaculate attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of current design trends, industry developments and new textile processes.
