The Communications Officer supports in the delivery of stakeholder-focused, strategic and impactful communications activities and campaigns. These communications aim to support a wide range of stakeholders, increase awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework and compliance requirements, and support our client’s goals and objectives.

You will manage SharePoint site and manage edits and review of the web pages.

**Key challenges**
- Translating complex information into clear and simple concepts that meet audience and stakeholder

requirements.

**Key accountabilities**
- Contribute to the development and implementation of communications and engagement plans to support taskforce initiatives and monitor their effectiveness to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and maintain effective internal communication mechanisms such as Microsoft Teams, newsletters, intranet updates, staff briefings, internal working groups, and support briefings for senior managers and governance groups.
- Establish, deliver and maintain effective external communication mechanisms including input to annual reports, consultation processes such as community and agency workshop design and delivery and public submissions processes, webinars, website updates, managing and tracking messaging for key

announcements, and supporting interagency and stakeholder working groups.
- Work with public affairs staff to monitor media, draft responses to media requests, draft media releases, and prepare agency and Ministerial correspondence.
- Coordinate the production of communication materials and publications, including scoping requirements with stakeholders, developing content (written materials, images, video and audio), coordinating approvals and disseminating the final product.
- Maintain communication and relationships with internal and external stakeholders (including maintaining systems to track stakeholder contacts and input) to identify opportunities for collaboration, and influence and negotiate communication requirements.

The Communications Officer operates with some autonomy in respect to their day to day work priorities and workload management, within an agreed work plan. The role holder must ensure the quality, integrity and validity of their content and outcomes.
The Communications Officer is directed by the Executive Director on more complex issues and project planning. The role holder applies sound judgement and decision making in referring matters to their supervisor which may be considered contentious, sensitive or need a higher authority to resolve.
