This is a great opportunity for a Graduate Policy and Research Officer to join our small but highly effective team. Reporting to our Policy Manager, you will join a busy policy team and develop your skills as you contribute to a wide range of communications consumer policy initiatives and support the delivery of the ACCAN Independent Grants Program.

Essential Skills for position
- An understanding of communications consumer policy issues or the capacity to quickly acquire this knowledge
- Effective stakeholder management skills, and a commitment to representing consumers.
- Knowledge of public policy processes
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills
- Good analytical and research skills
- A tertiary qualification in economics, public policy, social sciences, law, or telecommunications-related disciplines, or equivalent academic or professional experience

Desired Skills for position
- Knowledge and experience of working in the community sector
- Understanding of the needs of ACCAN’s diverse group of stakeholders, including people with disabilities, low-income consumers, First Nations Australians, among others.
- An understanding of the Australian Consumer Law and consumer rights
