**About the Position**:
At Whispir, the Group Product Manager (GPM) is a senior individual contributor role in the

product management team that defines the broader product strategy against the vision, set

by the Chief Product Officer (CPO) in collaboration with the Director of Product Management (DPM).

**Key responsibilities**:
First and foremost, as a GPM you will be responsible for devising, implementing, and overseeing the product strategy of the area of the business you are responsible for. This entails defining/finalising:

- **Outcomes - **specific things that the team wants to accomplish with the product. These goals should align with the business objectives of the company.
- **Product Vision** - the big picture or the end goal for which the product team should be working towards over the lifecycle of the products within your portfolio Develops an innovative product vision for their area and guides teams to invent and build features towards this vision. Focuses on and mitigates the most important problem area across their team(s). Makes their team aware of problems around the corner and ensures company-wide problems find the right owner.
- You'll drive product definition, strategy, and long term vision for products we build and how we scale them.
- Identify the biggest problems to solve. Drive new feature development from start to finish.
- You will identify key vertical needs and develop strategies that unlock those opportunities.
- Proactively drives the ideation and exploration of new ideas. as well as iterate on new or existing products/features based on feedback and data. Works with teams to ensure their pods have a healthy pipeline of new ideas that are being explored.
- Establish success metrics, be outcome driven, test and measure everything, take ownership of the results, track critical metrics and use them to drive decision-making about what's next.
- Risks / Effort ė a detailed list of the specific internal efforts required to achieve the product vision.
- Explore options and if required implement a communication technology buy/build strategy to accelerate time to market.
- Lead a number of major initiatives to build alignment and cohesion across pods/teams/domains/offerings.
- Establish, monitor, and measure success metrics after launch. Consistently integrate behavior data and customer feedback into key product decisions.
- Assist in defining OKRs and roadmap for the teams you influence.
- Partner with Product Marketing and Sales teams to develop go-to-market strategy for new products and features
- Helps other PMs achieve excellence in this area by documenting and sharing best practices.
- Communicate product plans, benefits and results to all audiences - within teams, company, to users, press etc.
- Works with product leadership to hire and develop PMs.
- Works with direct teams to ensure their pods are focused, planning and operating seamlessly with mínimal blockage.
- Influences teams to be deeply experimental, assisting or overseeing multiple well-designed experiments that lead to measurable improvement or learning.
- Boldly pursues an innovative direction for their product team.
- Ships a bold product bet that has the potential to alter the business trajectory.

**Aligning Stakeholders**

A major responsibility of the GPM role is to ensure that all the key stakeholders of the company are aligned with the product strategy. You will work together with other product leaders, product marketing managers, and product development managers to create plans of action that align with the strategic objectives highlighted in the product strategy.

**Representing the Voice of Customers**

As a GPM you will need to have a deep understanding and become the voice of the customer: You will need to communicate the findings of your research to business stakeholders and be part of the cross-functional team that develops a positive user experience for customers.

**About you**:

- Minimum 8 years professional experience in product roles
- A range of experience creating new products in a professional setting (wins and losses)
- A bias towards user and customer-centered techniques to define and create value, as well as using data to validate, to learn or test.
- A strong toolkit to draw on for defining products, such as skills in design-thinking, or lean validation, prototyping and execution.
- Empathy for those you work with and mentor, and a drive to build and foster highly
- effective teams.
- Views on how to build products, including the processes and practices that help set teams up for success (such as lean development). Instanding what you build is as important as how you build it.
- Iterative and adaptive approach -you'll get some setbacks, and can re-evaluate and find a new path forward without getting too worried about it
