The Sustainability Manager will lead The HOYTS Group's focus on positive environmental, social and governance outcomes. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, this role will be responsible for partnering with the business to support delivery of our evolving ESG strategy, towards achievement of key targets for the business.
You will play a critical role in the in the business to embed sustainability performance and create value for the business, and support employee, community and stakeholder needs.
**The key responsibilities of the role include**:
- Implementation plans to ensure objectives of The HOYTS Group's ESG Roadmap are met, monitored and reported on
- Communication of engagement strategies increasing awareness of our commitment to ESG
- Providing thought leadership around environmental topics including Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), carbon neutral initiatives, net zero goals and emissions reduction initiatives.
- Coordinating and supporting agenda and progress tracking for the ESG Steering committee.
- Working with external consultants to establish our emission baseline and targets across Scope 1, 2 and 3
- Identification of carbon offset initiatives.
- Working with internal stakeholders to establish food waste reduction and recycling strategies, renewable energy power purchase agreements and reusable and recyclable packaging.
- Development of our Reconciliation Action Plan
- Engagement of our teams in our charity partnerships through volunteering opportunities and workplace giving.
- Identifying opportunities to showcase diverse and responsible content on our platforms
- Working with key internal and external partners to achieve positive change in our value and supply chain.
- Present reporting and insights to the ESG Steering Committee and ELT
**Who we are looking for**:
The ideal person for this role will have an understanding of ESG priorities and issues affecting our business and be able to articulate these in a meaningful way to our team.
You will be able to communicate effectively to get buy-in and participation from the team at all levels. You will be adaptable and enjoy a pace that moves quickly combined with the opportunity to take ownership of projects within an organisation that continues to evolve and grow in the ESG space.
You’ll need to demonstrate your passion, skills and experience in driving sustainability and social change initiatives, and ideally have 3 - 5 years experience in a similar role.
Tertiary qualification/s in Sustainability, Corporate Responsibility, Communications, or Community development would be valued and practical experience in sustainability or climate change strategy execution; carbon accounting (in line with recognised standards and guidelines such as Climate Active) or ESG reporting is hugely desirable.
You’ll have the ability to influence at the most senior levels and will bring a positive, collaborative attitude to work with you every day.
