**The Organisation**

Our client is an S&P/ASX 300 listed business providing integrated end-to-end asset life-cycle services to utility and telecommunications asset owners. They are on the lookout for a Payroll Officer/Payroll Specialist to support the payroll team in various operational aspects and contributing to process improvements.

**Responsibilities**
Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for:

- Ad Hoc Payroll support to cover periods of leave.
- Assist in secondary operational support for the Senior Payroll Officers/Payroll Manager.
- Ensure accurate and timely payment of salaries, taxation, and superannuation contributions following legislative, award, and policy requirements.
- Implement and track payroll controls and compliance through reporting mechanisms.
- Conduct payroll-related reconciliations, validate pay runs, and calculate backpays as directed.
- Provide expert customer service for complex pay queries by investigating and proposing reasonable solutions.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and actively participate in projects aligned with company objectives.

The successful applicant will have proven experience in a similar position along with the following skills and attributes:

- Chris21 experience is essential
- Minimum 7 years payroll experience
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes, taxation & award interpretation
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and ability to cope with a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills
