**The Role**

We are seeking a strategic person to lead KU’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Program team, and work with KU to support and promote the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures throughout KU on a permanent full-time basis. The team, consisting of 3 identified industry professionals, is focused on building awareness and understanding across the organisation through implementation of the KU Statement of Commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and in the development of an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Framework.

As the Manager of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Programs you will work closely with your team providing direction and guidance in their work with the KU services and connections to local communities, and with the GM Early Childhood Education in developing respectful understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples voices and stories of their histories and cultures across the organisation.

**As the Manager of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Programs at KU, you will**:

- Listen and actively respond to the voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees
- Receive an additional paid Cultural Leave Day annually
- Draw on the cultural knowledges and expertise from an established Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Advisory Group
- Engage with local communities, seeking guidance in the creation and delivery of culturally secure and responsive environments and practices
- Initiate and oversee the implementation and delivery of locally endorsed language programs
- Develop and deliver training to progress the learning and cultural understanding and responsiveness of employees and management across the organisation
- Join a leadership team within the Early Childhood Education department
- Be offered a range of career pathway opportunities
