Join our team as an **Events Logistics Captain** at The Star Brisbane.

The Star Brisbane is Australia’s newest entertainment hub at the heart of the new Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct. The first phase is now open, with more venues and experiences on the way. The Star Brisbane offers a variety of new dining, bars, and unique entertainment options. It also includes a five-star luxury hotel, The Star Grand, and a state-of-the-art Event Centre.

As the **Event Logistics Captain**, you will report directly to the Event Logistics Manager and be responsible for supervising, guiding, and assisting the Events Logistics team. In this role, you will proactively manage the event floor staff across Logistics and liaise closely with our guests and clients to ensure you deliver a perfect event flow on the day. The Event Logistics Captain will work to accommodate a range of events such as conventions, exhibitions, functions, galas, and weddings.

**A few of your responsibilities**:

- Supervise, guide and assist Logistics team with on-the-job training and development.
- Proactively oversee and manage the Event Floor service flow and maintain performance standards, from bumping in/out, unloading trucks and motoring High-Risk activities, staff, and contractors to comply with QLD Government & WHS requirements.
- Follow instructions given by the Floor Manager daily for smooth business operations.
- Continuously monitor the work of team members during shifts.

**What we're looking for**:

- Strong knowledge and experience within a high-volume events space, convention centre, sporting event precinct or warehouse where you have worked on a variety of events open to the corporate client or public each day.
- Proven ability to lead a team, build productive working relationships and ensure tasks are completed accurately and safely.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ideally, you hold Forklift Licence or have a willingness to obtain one.
- A Responsible Service of Alcohol accreditation is also preferred.
- Flexible availability to work the hours when events happen.

We are actively on the hunt for energetic and dynamic Event Logistics Captain with previous experience in managing large teams in Event Logistics environments. You will have exceptional communications skills and be able to problem solve in challenging situations. You will have a flair for the Brisbane events scene and be passionate in building memorable connections with our guests and clients.
