**About the role**

As the Regional Aboriginal Heritage Project Officer, you will be part of the Managing Country Together (MCT) Directorate, which supports Parks Victoria to work effectively with Traditional Owners to manage cultural landscapes across the State. Your primary focus of the position is to support the protection of Aboriginal cultural heritage (ACH) values on Parks Victoria-managed land in the West Region. The Project Officer will work with the Regional Aboriginal Heritage Coordinator to support regional and district staff to implement Parks Victoria's policies and procedures for protecting ACH, in line with the organisation's Managing Country Together principles and legislative requirements and embed ACH values into operational planning and priority-setting.

**We're looking for someone with**:

- Working knowledge of Aboriginal cultural heritage legislation, governance and policies in Victoria is desirable
- Demonstrated experience in working effectively with Traditional Owners
- Demonstrated experience in providing expert and technical advice and support
- Ability to provide tools, advice and other support services to meet compliance obligations and achieve conservation outcomes for Aboriginal cultural heritage (ACH)
- Supporting internal and portfolio governance arrangements and decision-making, particularly in relation to joint management, Traditional Owner engagement and cultural heritage
