The roleThe Principal Finance Officer is responsible for delivering corporate financial management reporting to executive management and other key stakeholders as required by the Manager. You will manage the end-to-end processes of the annual budget, month end reconciliation, financial assurance and controls, reporting deliverables and responsibilities as this relates to Healthcare Purchasing and System Performance Division and Corporate Services Division.
The successful personYou will have the ability to provide effective leadership within a service delivery organisation involving multi-disciplinary programs and diverse work units. You will rely on your high-level knowledge of financial management legislation relevant to Queensland Health and experience in implementing integrated reporting arrangements to ensure that Queensland Health discharges its responsibilities.This role requires highly developed communication and interpersonal competence, including resilience and the capacity to negotiate, resolve conflict and positively influence and motivate others in a significant environment of reform and change.Additionally, you will have expert issue identification, analytical and research skills, problem solving skills and a demonstrated ability to develop innovative, sensitive and practical solutions and provide expert advice to complex issues.To succeed in this role, you will have understanding of the financial pressures and constraints that impact service delivery and the capacity to recommend courses of action which achieve optimal outcomes within those constraints.
